Emmaus Hampshire seeks stories of Eastleigh community spirit
In July Emmaus Hampshire launched a window campaign at its Leigh Road charity shop to celebrate Eastleigh’s community spirit.
The charity commissioned a series of window posters based on historic photos in the collection of Eastleigh and District Local History Society. Two posters will be hung in the store window each week of the summer holiday from Monday 25 July.
The charity is keen to hear residents’ own stories about the history and growth of the town, particularly relating to the development of community and solidarity with others. If you have family memories or a picture of your own, please pop into the charity’s shop and share them with the team there who are creating an audio record to accompany the exhibition.
Residents can view the changing display at Emmaus Eastleigh, 15 Leigh Road, SO50 9FF between 25 July and Saturday 3 September.
